Early Johnstone’s Paint test for Shrewsbury Town
Saturday 9th July 2011, 1:28PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town have missed out on a bye in the first round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
Graham Turner’s side have instead been placed in the north west section for the lower league competition.
It means they could face League Two rivals Accrington, Bury, Crewe or Port Vale or be pitted against League One opposition in the shape of Carlisle, Tranmere or Walsall.
The ties are scheduled for the week commencing August 29, with the draw due to take place on Sky Sports two weeks earlier.
There was straight progress to round two for 16 of the 48 clubs in the competition.
