More new faces due in at Shrewsbury Town
Saturday 25th June 2011, 11:30AM BST.
Shrewsbury Town could have at least two more new faces on board before returning to pre-season training next week.
Boss Graham Turner has seen some fruits for his summer labour with striker Marvin Morgan signing from Aldershot, Jon Taylor agreeing a two-year contract and midfielder Steve Leslie set to sign his own one year extension.
And more new arrivals look set top arrive within the next few days.
“The players are back in on Thursday and hopefully we will have two or three new faces in before that,” said Turner.
Meanwhile, the Town boss has paid tribute to striker Nathan Elder – even though he has reached a mutual agreement to release him after two years at the club.
Elder was sidelined for much of last season with a serious knee injury and is now searching for another club.
But Turner had some consoling words for the frontman. “I have the utmost respect for Nathan,” said the Town boss.
“Over the 12 months I have been here I have watched him work tremendously hard to come back from his knee injury.
“He has always had a smile on his face but you have to be a bit ruthless sometimes and make decisions and I felt I was going to look elsewhere for my strike force.
“It was all done very amicably and we wish Nathan well for the future.”
