Shrewsbury Town release Jake Robinson
Wednesday 1st June 2011, 3:51PM BST.
Forward Jake Robinson was today released by Shrewsbury Town.
Boss Graham Turner has confirmed the 24-year-old forward will not be offered a fresh deal when his contract expires this summer.
Robinson scored 13 times in 40 starts and 21 sub appearances in his two seasons with Town and became an intriguing figure this term when he was loaned out to League Two promotion rivals Torquay at the end of January.
Robinson scored seven times for the Gulls – after finding the net on nine occasions for Shrewsbury in the first half of the season.
He bagged two for Torquay in a 5-0 success over his parent club in March after Shrewsbury didn’t insert a clause in his contract preventing him from playing.
Robinson was then part of the Torquay team who knocked Shrewsbury out of the play-off at the semi-final stage before going down 1-0 to Stevenage at Old Trafford on Saturday.

What is Turner thinking about? Now watch him score goals a-plenty for whoever gets him but sadly it won’t be for Shrewsbury Town! I don’t believe it!
