Shrewsbury Town set to take on Aldershot
Friday 8th April 2011, 11:50AM BST.
Boss Graham Turner today called for “more of the same” as the Shrewsbury Town promotion bandwagon rolls into Aldershot tomorrow.
Town have taken maximum points from their last three games to surge into the top three in League Two with just six games remaining.
And Turner has urged his side to maintain that standard as they prepare to head to the Recreation Ground.
“The message to the players is more of the same,” said Turner.
“We seem to have a fresh energy in the side and we are playing well at a good time.
“We have to keep the players focused but the confidence appears to have surged back into the side.”
Town travel to face an Aldershot side who must win their final six games to have any chance of reaching the play-offs.
But the hosts are in fine form, with Shots boss Dean Holdsworth today named League Two manager of the month for March.
“Aldershot is never an easy ground to go to and we will have to be at our best to beat them,” added Turner.
“They are unbeaten in their last eight matches, although six of them have been draws.
“We have to be very, very careful and keep our concentration at the back while playing with the freedom we have done in the last three games.”
Town’s only injury doubt surrounds young striker Tom Bradshaw who limped out of training earlier in the week with a minor knee problem.
Turner remains hopeful the Welsh under-19 forward will recover in time.
Accrington Stanley could move level on points with Town tonight with a victory at Macclesfield in the only game in League Two.
