Shrewsbury Town 4 Macclesfield 1
Saturday 2nd April 2011, 4:56PM BST.
Shrewsbury Town came from behind to inflict a heavy defeat on Macclesfield and maintain their League Two promotion push.
Town were under pressure when a deflected shot from Hamza Bencherif flew into the top corner on 19 minutes.
But Jon Taylor produced an immediate leveller and two second half strikes from Lionel Ainsworth and one from Matt Harrold sealed an impressive success for Graham Turner’s side.

I hope this great result and the third in succession brings bigger crowds back to our home turf for the remainder of the season, it certainly proves that all the lads want promotion and that this in turn will stop the doubters. We have a very capable squad, the envy of many, so well done again Town, keep it going with a few more wins and Division One here we come.
Instead of in previous year filling Wembley with 25,000 fans for the play offs why don’t we fill our home ground with a capacity crowd for each of the remaining games, surely that’s not asking much is it if the reward is promotion…..everyone will then be a winner.
