Shrewsbury Town manager Graham Turner is ready to stick with what he’s got for the npower League Two run-in.

The Town chief has been thwarted in his attempts to bring in new players ahead of tonight’s League loan deadline meaning young Scunthorpe defender Niall Canavan is the only new face through the door at the Greenhous Meadow.

But Turner declared himself more than happy with his squad’s make-up as they steady themselves for the final nine games of the campaign – starting with a visit to Bradford City on Saturday.

“It looks unlikely that anyone else will be coming in,” said Turner. “We’ve fallen down on one deal when the club changed their mind at the eleventh hour. It is frustrating but there is nothing we can do about that. It’s something you have to deal with.

“They just decided they didn’t want him to come out so that’s that. This time of the year can be frustrating when you are dealing with other clubs but is something you just get used to.”

“I’m not too bothered about it. We’ve got a squad that is big enough and good enough to win promotion from this league.

“If we were to bring anyone in then they would have to be better than what we already have. There is no point in just bringing players in for the sake of it.”

Town are reporting a clean bill of health ahead of the trip to Valley Parade with 19-year-old Canavan, on international duty with the Republic of Ireland under 21s, the only absentee.

Turner added: “That was a twist of fate that he is unavailable.”

Meanwhile, young Wolves midfielder Nathan Rooney is training with Town alth-ough it looks unlikely any deal will go through in the immediate future.

The Republic of Ireland under 19 international has captained Wolves reserves and is contracted at Molineux until the end of the season.

Wolves boss Mick Mc-Carthy confirmed the Telford-born 18-year-old was spending time at the Greenhous Meadow and had played in last week’s friendly win over Oldham.
