Torquay 5 Shrewsbury 0
Saturday 12th March 2011, 4:51PM GMT.
Jake Robinson, sent out on loan from Shrewsbury to Torquay in January, scored twice against his parent club on a nightmare afternoon for Town at Plainmoor.
Robinson bagged a brace in two second half minutes, including one from the penalty spot after Shane Cansdell-Sherriff had been harshly penalised for handball.
Town were already in trouble before that with Gavin Tomlin giving Torquay the lead with a fifth minute effort which the visitors felt was offisde.
Shrewsbury were given a mountain to climb when right back Jermaine Grandison was dismissed for a reckless challenge on Robinson on the touchline three minutes before half-time.
And, after Robinson’s double strike, it got worse for Town when Chris Zebroski added a fourth on 70 minutes and then captain Ian Sharps poked into his own net as he put his foot in to prevent a Torquay attack to sum up a miserable afternoon for Graham Turner’s side.

The Jake Robinson scenario at Torquay was utterly predictable, town were either terribly naive or just plain stupid to allow him to play. GT needs to shake this lot up big time if we are to maintain a challenge for promotion. Some hard games coming up and we need players with determination and character to get results.
