Shrewsbury twice came from behind and snatched a dramatic winner three minutes from time to notch a vital victory in their pursuit of automatic promotion.
Stunning strikes from Michael Jacobs at the start of either half twice gave Northampton the lead but Shrewsbury immediately equaliser on both occasions through fine finishes from David Davis and James Collins.
And teenage winger Jon Taylor proved the hero as he snatched the winner with a drilled 20 yard half volley three minutes from time.
