England under 20 manager Brian Eastwick has praised Shrewsbury Town’s stadium after watching his side slip to a 2-1 defeat to France, writes ALEX JAMES.

More than 5,500 fans watched the clash which saw Watford’s Marvin Sordell on target for the home side.

And Eastwick said the staff and players were pleased with the welcome and the playing surface at the Greenhous Medow.

He said: “We’ve played three or four development games here over the last few years.

“It’s always a very, very good environment for us to come to.

“It’s a super little stadium for us and it’s a decent atmosphere if you get four or five thousand people in here. We enjoy coming here with the development teams.

“The pitch was good as well so no complaints at all.”
