Jermaine Grandison of Shrewsbury Town tries to get past Ryan Hall of Southend United

Shrewsbury Town completed a fine week with a second League Two victory in five days.

Graham Turner’s side followed up their 3-0 victory over Burton on Tuesday with an equally impressive 2-0 success at Southend.

The visitors were full value for a victory which was sealed by goals from Jon Taylor and Matt Harrold, the same scorers as on Tuesday,

Taylor broke the deadlock two minutes before the break with a fine edge of the box finish after Jermaine Grandison and Harrold had combined in the build-up.

And Harrold sealed the victory on the hour with a  left-footed thunderbolt from 25 yards which rifled into the top corner.

I am also an exiled Shrewsbury fan able to take my 10 year to see us beat Southend. Great performance and a win, which made my lads day – especially as he is an Arsenal fan. Feeling optimistic that we might actually go up this year.
