Shrewsbury Town extended their unbeaten run to three matches after pushing League Two leaders all the way at the Greenhous Meadow.
Town were the dominate force throughout and had several sightings of goals with Mark Wright, Craig Disley, Tom Bradshaw and James Collins amongst the players to go close.
Chesterfield were forced to live off scraps for the much part, although Dean Smalley fired an excellent late chance over the bar.
