Shrewsbury Town 1 Morecambe 3
Saturday 8th January 2011, 4:58PM GMT.
fgfgfgShrewsbury Town suffered their second home defeat in five days after a poor display at the Greenhous Meadow.
Town got off to a nightmare start when Dean Holden inexplicibly headed through his own net on 11 minutes before James Spencer doubled the advantage shortly before the half hour after a scramble had seen Town goalkeeper Chris Neal save well from Stewart Drummond and Mark Duffy.
It got worse for Graham Turner’s side just after half time when Laurence Wilson converted a penalty after a foul on Mat Sadler from Duffy.
Spencer was dismissed shortly before the hour for what appeared a stamp on Holden and, while Town applied some late pressure, their only reward came from a smart volley from Shane Cansdell-Sherriff which went in off the bar on 68 minutes.
