Shrewsbury Town 0 Crewe 1
Monday 3rd January 2011, 4:56PM GMT.
Shrewsbury Town’s unbeaten home record came to an end with a disappointing home reverse at the hands of Crewe.
The only goal of the game came in the 66th minute when Shaun Miller fired home from close range after a cross from Matt Tootle dropped invitingly for the Crewe striker.
The visitors had spurned earlier chances to take the lead before Shrewsbury, who were below-par for the much part, rallied late on with Shane Cansdell-Sherriff and Steve Leslie both going close.

I thought Crewe were the best passing team we have seen this season, bossed the midfield, were a threat upfront and gave nothing away at the back. On that performance they should walk into the play-offs.I’m afraid the Shrews were a real disappointment and lacked any real fight.

our present squad are putting our manager in a very average position, when he is capable of much more. gt needs to dump as many lemons from the squad as he can, particularly up front and to loan wisely, there are bargains out there. town are in a highflung place thanks to a great mananage, the squads previous efforts and now they are being held in the play offs by other teams results. gt will know that 1 point out of 6 at the end of the year is unacceptable and next saturday we need 11 players playing for each other and our great club
raven and bradshaw should be in the team fron the start and robbo and matty harrold could help with the car park where on current form they are better suited. floreat salopia. sort it please gt

We desperately need a strong midfield. From the start of the season we have been weak in that department once teams get in our faces. Oh for a GT or Sammy Chapman type who are capable of bossing a game.

We came out looking like a team that were perhaps overconfident brought on by our reasonably good unbeaten run, this is never a good thing if the players just feel like they need to turn up to win.
Players like Robinson and to some extent Harrold are looking jade, Robinson is dangerous when he has open green grass around him and no one to hussel off the ball, too many times he’s left standing by stronger more physical opposition.
When Leslie and Bradshaw came on the difference was clear, more straight forward attacking play with real determination and an appetite to win, something that was woefully missing for almost 75 minutes of the rest of the match.
We’ve also become predictable with our style of wing play and although often effective when Wright is on top song, when he’s not we need another solution.
Drop Robinson and Harrold and buy another striker, one that is desperate to win every match and not just when we’re 1-0 down. Winning is about hard work not just turning up.
Very poor Town, this will not win us promotion, change is quickly.
