Shropshire cricket hope after rain delay

Shropshire's cricketers were today attempting to make up for lost time in their Minor Counties Championship clash at Herefordshire.

The entire first day’s play at Colwall was abandoned yesterday with the ground left saturated by heavy rain.

With no prospect of play, an early decision was taken by the umpires before 10am.

Play was due to begin at 10.30am this morning – 30 minutes earlier than scheduled – while more of the time lost can be made up at the end of play tonight.
