Collins completed a double at the Shropshire course, which was her eighth winner from 11 runners, a remarkable strike rate, writes Arthur Shone.

The first leg came with the veteran Guvain in the Ladies Open with Leanda Tickle in the plate winning by a distance from Kilcross Boy.

Ludlow, and the trainer has pencilled in a hunter chase at Fontwell next for her charge.

The second part came with Qrackers in the Confined also ridden by Tickle, who won cosily by a length from Oyster Shell with Ed Glassonbury aboard, with Sam Cavallaro a similar distance back in third. The winner is also owned by Dawson, and Collins said afterwards that the winner was nearly back to his best.

The opening two-and-a-half mile Maiden was yet another winner for Malpas trainer and rider Glassonbury with Pontresina, who made every yard from flag fall to beat the well backed Serosevsky from the Philip Rowley yard with Alex Edwards in the plate, winning by two-and-a-half lengths.

The winner is owned by Eric Brook, a well known owner with Mick Easterby.

Rowley and Edwards went on to enjoy success with Shan't Agree, but the combination were joined on the line by the Zoe Hammond-trained Thinking Out Loud under Tommy O'Brien, the former had held on by a fast diminishing head.

The winner is owned by a syndicate called the Crazy Dealers Partnership, which is made up of local owners from Shropshire, including bloodstock agent David Minton, Richard French, Phil Jones and Johnny Cornes, the clerk of the course, just to name a few of the members.

Rowley said: "He deserved that, he has been knocking on the door. This race would have done his confidence a power of good."

After missing out in the opener, Bridgnorth's Rowley was in the winner's enclosure with the success of Hazel Hill in the Men's Open under Alex Edwards, the combination not extended to see off the Sheila Crow-trained Fruit Fayre with Paddy Gerety aboard by 10 lengths. The winner is owned by the former Enville trainer Di Williams. Rowley landed the holy grail of point-to-point racing last Saturday, the Lady Dudley Cup at Chaddesley Corbett with Barel Of Laughs, who had previously finished third in the Foxhunters at the Cheltenham Festival.

Hadnall trainer Crow rarely leaves her local course without a winner and she maintained her strike rate following the success of Bailey Smile under Fred Timmis, who held off the sustained challenge of Lester Futter aboard Sulu Magic by a length. The winner is owned jointly by Don Edwards from Wem and Colin Gittins from Market Drayton.

Crow said: "I bought the horse in November and I have always thought a lot of him."
