Former snooker professional King is taking on fellow qualifier Shaun Chipperfield in the second of today's semi-finals.

He will be backed by a large following of family and friends as he looks to progress at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool.

His run has included wins against world No 4 Michael Hope in the last 32, former snooker professional Eddie Barker in the last 16 and 2014 and 2015 Australian champion Michael Scherrie.

Since retiring from full-time snooker, where he won the English Open in 2002, King has concentrated on his family life with wife Emma, and children Maria, Alex and Sophie.

But he has been playing pool locally and in tournaments across the UK when time allows. He works full-time for his parents John and Norma at the Bull's Head Inn in Chelmarsh, near Bridgnorth.
