One win for Ted Hankey in Belgium Open

Telford's Ted Hankey was back in competitive action but failed to make much headway in the BDO's Belgium Open over the weekend.

The two-time world champion darter travelled to the Belgica Loods in Antwerp, for an event that attracted nearly 400 players from all over Europe.

'The Count,' who lives in Aqueduct, is on a quest to return to the organisation's major tournaments with the World Masters and Lakeside on the horizon, writes Craig Birch.

But Hankey didn't benefit too much from this trip, despite a bye past the first round. He managed to whitewash Belgium's own Jaimy Jacobs 4-0, before losing 4-1 to Dutchman Patrick Morelissen.
