Shropshire to stage motocross final round
Hawkstone Park is the venue for the final round of the AMCA British Motocross Championships on Sunday.
Riders from all corners of England and Wales will converge on the famous north Shropshire venue which is rated as the top UK circuit.
The main British Championship is split into two classes with MX1 catering for riders on bikes with an engine capacity larger than 250cc.
The other is the MX2 for bikes with an engine size smaller than 249cc.
Each class will compete in three races, each lasting 20 minutes.
“It ensures fantastic value for money and a full day of high-flying, adrenalin- pumped, thrilling and very colourful action,” said Mike Wood, one of the organisers.
“There will also be a programme of support racing involving local competitors at Hawkstone.”
Admission for the event is £5 adults, £3 concessions with children under-12 free.
Racing gets under way by 10.30am and runs through until 5pm.
Wood added: “Just 13 points currently separate the top three riders in the MX1 Championship and a mere three points split the duo at the top of MX2.
“It’s sure to be a thrilling and memorable day out.”
