Shropshire brothers Dick and Fred Wildgoose have won a cricketing OSCA.
The duo, who live in Oswestry, received a NatWest Outstanding Service to Cricket Award at a special ceremony at Lord’s.
It was given in recognition of their work to promote the Cricket Foundation for People with Disabilities.
It hailed their pioneering work in developing opportunities for people with different types of physical and learning disability to play the game through the foundation.
They received their award from former England captain Mike Gatting.
The brothers have been involved in disabled cricket since 1989.
The citation said the award recognised their foresight, dedication and enormous contribution to disability cricket in England and Wales.
It added:?“Dick and Fred Wildgoose were the catalysts to what we have in place today, in many ways ahead of their time in the development of cricket for people with disabilities.”
The event at Lord’s was hosted by Test Match Special commentator Jonathan Agnew.
Also present were current England cricketers James Anderson, Matt Prior and Claire Taylor together with another former England captain Michael Vaughan.
