Morley and manager Liam Watson have been targeting numerous new recruits in recent weeks as they aim to build a squad capable of challenging for promotion back to the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Only two of the club’s players from last season’s squad have so far been retained, keeper Ryan Young and defender Dan Preston, while 10 have been released.

Watson has also expressed an interest in retaining right-back Will Salmon for the new campaign, although no deal has been done.

Several other players remain without new deals following last month’s relegation from the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Morley said that the door remains open for those who want to stay at the club to try to impress the new management in pre-season.

He said: “We are trying to get a team together that can challenge for promotion but we have got no divine right to come back up.

“But everyone is welcome to come back in pre-season so we can have a look at them.”

As well as working to bring in new recruits, the club is also shaping Telford’s pre-season fixture list.

A friendly against Kidderminster Harriers on July 23 and a Shropshire Senior Cup tie against Shawbury United on July 9 have been penciled in.
