AFC Telford sign keeper Joe Collister
AFC Telford have signed former Tamworth goalkeeper Joe Collister as cover for Ryan Young following the departure of previous understudy Jack Cudworth.
Collister has arrived at the New Bucks Head on a one-year deal and will take over as Young’s competition following Cudworth’s move to Evo-Stik Northern Premier Division side Chorley.
Boss Andy Sinton said Collister’s arrival would provide vital cover in an important area and that the club had moved quickly having been informed of Cudworth’s imminent departure several days ago.
He said: “We have signed Joe Collister. Jack Cudworth has taken an offer from another club from a different league which he is quite entitled to do.
“We knew before the Luton game that he would be signing elsewhere so we moved quickly and he gives us important cover.”
Collister, 20, started his career with home-town club Tranmere Rovers and has played for Blue Square Bet side Tamworth. He also had spells out on loan with Barwell and Altrincham.
