Andy Brown unsure of AFC Telford future
Saturday 14th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Record goalscorer Andy Brown admits his AFC Telford United future is shrouded in doubt as he settles in at old club Nuneaton Town.
Brown, who has scored 56 goals for the Bucks, was allowed to leave on loan earlier this month after the signings of Kyle Perry and Marlon Jackson – dropping a division.
He made his debut in a 1-1 draw at Workington last week and admits he has no idea if he has a future at the New Bucks Head.
“I honestly don’t know about the future beyond this month,” said Brown, 24.
“I’m just going to enjoy my football at Nuneaton and I’ll do all I can to help the club. Telford haven’t been firing on all cylinders and the manager felt he needed to make changes,” he added.
“He’s brought in a few attacking players and if he felt he needed to trim the wage bill then I guess I was one who could go for now.
“It all happened quickly. I know Nuneaton well, I know the manager (Kevin Wilkin) well and if I was going to go anywhere it was the perfect place.”
* Telford’s last game of the season, away at Gateshead on Saturday April 28, will kick-off at 1pm. Kick-off has been brought forward in all Blue Square Bet Premier games for possible television coverage.
