AFC Telford United produced one of their performances of the season but could not find a goal as they dominated against promotion-chasing York City.
The first half was an even affair but Telford bossed the second period and created a string of chances.
York keeper Michael Ingham saved superbly to deny Phil Trainer and Ashley Cain while Stuart Whitehead had an effort headed off the line.
And Dan Preston headed over late on when getting on the end of a teasing cross from the much-improved Cain.
