Adam Proudlock out of AFC Telford action until February

AFC Telford United have been warned to plan for life without big-name striker Adam Proudlock for more than two months.

The former Wolves hitman, 30, was initially ruled out for around six weeks after breaking his ankle in the FA Cup fourth qualifying round victory over Gainsborough Trinity last month.

But boss Andy Sinton has now revealed that he will be in plaster until the end of December and may not be fit for action until February.

“He’s certainly out until the New Year, and possibly until February,” said Sinton, whose side were playing host to Barrow this afternoon.

“He’s going to be in plaster until the turn of the year and he’s not going to jump out of the cast and straight into the No 9 shirt.

“He’s at Lilleshall on a daily basis doing his work but it is all non-weight bearing at the minute because of his cast.

“We’ll get him back as soon as we can and I still think he can be an important player for us.”

Meanwhile, right-sided defender-cum-midfielder Dwayne Samuels is making faster progress from his broken toe.

Sinton believes he could be back to full fitness in three weeks, in time to come into contention for the hectic Christmas period.

But midfielder Carl Rodgers – who is known throughout the club as Bruno – has suffered another body-blow to his hopes of a quick return.

“Bruno is still suffering with back spasms and he’s been out for a couple of weeks with that, off and on,” said Sinton.

“He was back in training earlier in the week but it has been troubling him again.”
