Former AFC Telford United defender Gavin Cowan is hoping the “best week of my life” doesn’t cost him the chance of causing an FA Cup shock at his old club on Saturday.

Cowan will be part of the Gainsborough Trinity squad aiming to upset Andy Sinton’s side in the fourth qualifying round at the New Bucks Head.

But, despite being club captain, his place in the Trinity starting line-up is far from secured.

The 30-year-old became a father for the first time last Friday and has missed their last two games as a result.
