Boss Andy Sinton is anticipating a trip to the Blue Square Bet Premier’s form side Mansfield Town tonight, declaring: “We relish the challenge.”

Mansfield drew three and lost one of their first four league games but have since won five in a row to roar up the table.
And, having scored 14 goals in those five games, Sinton is fully aware of what to expect at Field Mill.

“They’re a club who have been higher up the league pyramid and are being well backed by their chairman (John Radford),” he said.

“They are going well and, after five wins in a row, are pretty much the form team in the division.

“But we relish the challenge and we go there with our eyes wide open.”

Telford lie in 15th place ahead of the trip to Nottinghamshire, having picked up 11 points from their first nine games.

Meanwhile, midfielder Levi Reid has linked up with Evo-Stik League premier division side Chasetown in a bid to get some game time under his belt.

He joins another Buck, Jordan Johnson, at the Scholars Ground – and could make his debut in tonight’s Birmingham Senior Cup tie at home to Bedworth United.

Reid remains on non-contract terms with the Bucks and has signed dual registration papers to make him eligible for Chasetown.

  • AFC Telford’s youth team bowed out of the FA Youth Cup in the first qualifying round with a 2-1 defeat at home to Halesowen last night.
