Proudlock wants in for AFC Telford v Stockport
Wednesday 7th September 2011, 11:50AM BST.
Striker Adam Proudlock today declared himself ready to join AFC Telford’s Blue Square Bet Premier push this weekend – against his former club, writes JAMES GARRISON.
The 30-year-old has been sidelined for the first month of the Bucks return to the top flight of non-League football with a groin injury sustained in the pre-season friendly at Chasetown.
But Proudlock has now completed two weeks training and played 90 minutes in last night’s 6-0 squad game victory over Wellington Amateurs at Shrewsbury Sports Village.
And the ex-Wolves frontman now hopes to force his way into the 16 for Saturday’s visit of Stockport, where he spent two seasons between 2006 and 2008.
“The injury is coming along very well,” said Proudlock, who was among the scorers last night.
“When it first happened, I probably pushed too hard to be back for the first game of the season and it broke down on me. But it feels good now.
“I got 90 minutes last night so hopefully I can be in contention on Saturday against one of my former club.
“I enjoyed my time at Stockport and I was there when they got promoted to League One (in 2008) – but it’s always good to do well against your old clubs.”
As well as Proudlock, Craig Farrell scored four times last night with an un-named trialist completing the scoring.

If Proudlock is in the 16, make sure there’s enough pies for the spectators.
doesn’t look as though his weight is any lower than in 2008…….

I take Nick has not seen much of Adam playing at this level. Perhaps judge him after 10/15 games or get from behind your keyboard and go and see for yourself. A great contribution …..not!
