Tamworth 2 AFC Telford 2
Monday 29th August 2011, 4:57PM BST.
AFC Telford United produced a stirring fightback to come from two goals down and rescue a draw away at Tamworth.
The Bank Holiday fixture looked to be drifting away from the Bucks when they fell behind to a Keiron St Aimie goal on 41 minutes.
St Aimie then added his second of the afternoon on 67 minutes to put the Lambs in total control.
But manager Andy Sinton’s substitutions proved pivotal as they came roaring back.
Former Wolves youngster Nathan Rooney got them back in it on 70 minutes and Alex Meechan – who had also come off the bench – slid in from a narrow angle on 79 minutes to level the scores.
