York City 0 AFC Telford 1
Saturday 20th August 2011, 4:56PM BST.
Super sub Craig Farrell was the hero as he scored with his first touch to secure AFC Telford United their first ever victory in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Telford, lining up in a 4-5-1 formation that allowed them to match York in midfield, gave as good as they got in an entertaining first half.
York’s one-touch football meant they were always a threat when they broke forward but the Bucks had their moment too, Craig King with their one clear sight of goal.
The Minstermen had the better chances in the second period, with £60,000 striker Jason Walker missing three golden opportunities.
But the Bucks never gave up and snatched it when a Phil Trainer shot came back off the post on 86 minutes and Farrell side-footed in the rebound.
