Phil John is told to shape up

Straight-talking AFC Telford United boss Andy Sinton has told forward Phil John to dramatically improve his fitness if he wants a future at the club.
Pacy wideman John played a bit-part in Telford’s promotion triumph last season and featured regularly in the early pre-season friendlies this summer.
But he turned out for the Bucks’ Blue Square Bet Premier rivals Hayes & Yeading last week before returning to the Bucks for the 2-0 win at Chasetown on Thursday.
He remains keen to stay at Telford but Sinton has issued a stern warning that the player has to prove he can complete a full game.
“I can’t offer Phil a contract at the moment because he can only play half a game,” said Sinton. “It’s a 90-minute game and I can only offer him a non-contract deal until he gets himself fully fit.”
