Andy Sinton won’t allow Bucks to go for ‘broke’

Prudent boss Andy Sinton insists AFC Telford United have stuck to their budget – and will not end up in the same mess as some of their Blue Square Bet Premier rivals.

Financial pressures have made plenty of headlines in the top flight of non-League football, with Rushden & Diamonds going bust and Wrexham now in trouble.

The Dragons have pulled out of their last two friendlies with the players refusing to play after not receiving their wages.

“It’s no good going boom and bust,” said Sinton, who is preparing his side for their big season opener against Luton Town on Saturday, August 13.

“I’m not one to comment on other clubs and I don’t want to speak out of turn, but how can you start a season with the players going on strike because they haven’t been paid?”
