Lee Evans wants to impress at AFC Telford

Saturday 23rd July 2011, 11:29AM BST.

Trialist keeper Lee Evans will get a third chance to impress when AFC Telford United make the trip to Rushall Olympic on Monday.

Former Stafford Rangers No 1 Lee Evans turned down an offer at Marston Road to try and win a deal with Telford.

He played in the 9-0 win at Rocester and the 4-1 win at Market Drayton and will now get another opportunity to stake his case.

Telford boss Andy Sinton is eager to bring at least one new goalkeeper to the club to give competition to regular first choice Ryan Young.

And assistant manager Darren Read, who was taking charge of the side for today’s friendly at Aberystwyth, confirmed: “Lee Evans will play on Monday.

“He’s done well in training and his work ethic is excellent. He’s fitted in really well and the gaffer will make a decision soon.”

Sinton has also looked at two other young keepers in the 7-2 win at Ellesmere and is also planning to run the rule over another custodian with League and Conference experience.

He said: “I certainly want two keepers signed and I probably want another one in the background who we can call on if needed.”

Im not so sure, he might be a good keeper but surely his comedy touring commitments will get in the way?
