Flying winger Greg Mills will wait until the middle of July before deciding whether to commit his future to AFC Telford United.

Mills, freshly released by Derby County, spent all but one month of last season on loan with the Bucks and has an offer on the table to sign for the club permanently.

The 20-year-old is one of Telford boss Andy Sinton’s top targets as he plans for life in the Blue Square Bet Premier, with reports today also suggesting a deal for prolific Hinckley left winger James Reid, a former Nottingham Forest and Lincoln player, is close to completion.

But Mills has also been invited to go on trial with clubs in League One and League Two and will keep his options open as looks to life after Pride Park.

“A couple of teams have been in contact about pre-season but I’m still in touch with Andy and he’s made me an offer,” Mills confirmed. “We’ve both agreed a cut-off date in the middle of July and I’ll make my decision by then.

“I have promised Andy that I won’t go to another team in the Conference, even if its someone like Luton,” he added.

“If I do drop back into non-League then it will be at Telford. I said the same thing when I went back to Derby in January and I kept my word.”

Mills insists he would be delighted to return to the Bucks if he is unable to secure a contract with a full-time team.

“I’m happy at Telford and I believe that if we can get a couple more players then we’d have a good chance of staying up and pushing on from there,” he added.

Meanwhile, Hinckley man Reid, 21, is believed to be on his way to the Bucks having made 38 league appearances for the Leicestershire side last season, scoring 13 goals.

He began his career at Forest, where he made one substitute appearance.
