AFC Telford United today unveiled ticket prices for their return to the top flight of non-League football.

Matchday prices have increased by £2 to £13 adults and £10 concessions while adult season tickets for the 23 game Blue Square Bet Premier campaign are available from £230.

Chairman Lee Carter admitted it had been a tough balancing act to agree on suitable prices.

“We had to recognise we had moved up a level and that we want to provide the manager (Andy Sinton) with the chance to make us the leading part-time club in the country,” said chairman Lee Carter.

“But we were also very mindful of the fact that the economic and job situation in the country is still not stable.

“I’m confident we have got the balance right.”

A special early bird rate will be applicable for season tickets purchased before June 23, priced at £234 for adults and £180 for concessions.

That would effectively offer the complete league season for the price of 18 games. They go up to £260 and £200 respectively if brought after that date.

The ‘kids for a quid’ scheme will still operate for youngsters under the age of 14, while a new young persons rate has been introduced with a £5 charge per game.

“We felt that asking 15-year-olds to pay £1 and then a year later to pay a full rate was too big a jump,” added Carter.

“We wanted to put a stepping stone in between.”

A young person’s season ticket — up to the age of 18 — will cost £90 with an under 16 season ticket available at £22.
