A goal from youngster Kane Cork sealed victory for Shrewsbury Town in a low key Shropshire Senior Cup final with AFC Telford United.
Cork, a first year scholar in the Shrewsbury academy, struck from 15 yards out after being set up by left-back Danny Taylor seven minutes from time.
Just 401 fans were at the Greenhous Meadow for the match, with both sides having made 11 changes to their line-ups that managed draws in their respective league games on Easter Monday.

More Ploice on duty at the respective stations and town centres than fans turned up to watch this youth team game!
What a waste of public money, I hope Shropshire FA are proud of themselves.

401 fans. Perhaps the Shropshire FA will sit up and take note now.

Can anyone name and shame the idiots at the Shropshire FA who took this decision and made a farce of a once proud competition?

@ More police than fans – … and still the pathetic neanderthals from Telford played up and had to be escorted all the way to the ground by police. They should be made to pay for policing the event, but then I guess not many of them understand the concept of earning money.
You are right – an absolute waste of public money – but the police had to be there in those numbers because of the history of violence between the Shrewsbury and Telford numpties – you can’t call them fans because that it exactly what they are not !

Maybe if the Police took action against anti social behaviour whenever and wherever it occurs we would not have to put up with another generation of morons.
We seem happy to accomodate anti social behaviour instead of confronting it – football is an outlet for the morons but is certainly not the cause.
Poor parenting, lack of a disciplined education system followed up by ineffective Policing allow small to troublemakers to grow up into full blown thugs.
