AFC Telford 2 Eastwood 2
Tuesday 22nd March 2011, 9:43PM GMT.
AFC Telford United were held to a draw against an in-form Eastwood Town – but did enough to hold on to top spot in the Blue Square Bet North.
Eastwood took the lead when Matt Rhead picked out Lee Stevenson on 21 minutes and the visiting forward drilled a sweet srike into the bottom corner.
Telford had chances of their own and were twice denied by terrific saves from keeper Jon Danby but finally levelled four minutes before half-time when Andy Brown got on the end of Sean Newton’s cross to loop in a header.
The Bucks made an explosive start to the second half, Greg Mills firing Telford in front inside 60 seconds.
But Eastwood were back on level terms within four minutes, Matthew Rhead heading in unmarked off David Haggerty’s cross.
