Boss Andy Sinton wants AFC Telford United to put on a display worthy of champions when they make the trip to Hyde tonight.

The Bucks travel to Hyde’s Ewen Fields looking to pile pressure on the Blue Square Bet North front runners, who all won on Saturday. And the Telford chief insists they can take nothing for granted against a side who are battling against relegation.

“It’s important we go there tonight and put on a performance that allows us to get a result,” said Sinton.

“People look at the first game of the season, when we beat them 5-0, and think it will be a stroll in the park but we know better.

“I went and watched them at Solihull on Saturday (in a game Hyde lost 3-2) so I’m fully aware of what they are all about.

“That was a real game of two halves – Hyde were second best for the first half but they got on top in the second half and should have won the game. They missed three good chances before conceding a last minute goal.”

Sinton may be able to involve new recruit Yannick Salem tonight, as long as he can complete the registration process for the Congo international in time.

Former Hereford man Danny Williams will not feature though, with red tape holding up his switch from Belgian side RRFC Montegnée.

Both players got a run-out in yesterday’s friendly clash between a Telford United XI and a PFA Legends side at the New Bucks Head. “The fans who came yesterday saw them both and I think they will be useful additions,” said Sinton.
