Boss Andy Sinton has moved to strengthen AFC Telford United’s midfield options by recalling Will Richards from his loan with Shropshire neighbours Market Drayton Town.

Richards joined the Bucks in the summer following his release from Shrewsbury Town.

He has been a hit in his three months at Drayton, helping them climb away from the foot of the Evo-Stick League division one south.

The 19-year-old has now returned to the fold at the New Bucks Head — and Sinton is also considering whether to bring former Walsall man Richard Davies back from Chasetown.

“We’re a little bit short on bodies and Phil Trainer is suspended in a week’s time so it makes sense,” he said.

“Will’s been out long enough now, so we want to have a good look at him in training and see how he’s coming on.

“I’m not saying he’s going to go into our team but we’ll have a look at him and maybe look to send him out on loan again to a side at a higher level.

“We might look to bring Richard back from Chasetown as well but I haven’t decided on that one yet.”

Meanwhile, Sinton admits he has hit a brick wall in his bid to arrange a friendly game for his fringe players who are badly in need of match action.

Telford have held several similar games earlier in the season against the likes of Chasetown, Rushall and the Port Vale Academy.

“The weather has put everyone on the back foot because people are playing catch-up,” said Sinton.
