Boss Andy Sinton is out to bolster AFC Telford United’s squad with fresh faces as they prepare for a run of six games in just 22 days.

The Telford chief is eager to bring in a replacement for departed loan winger Greg Mills from Derby County.

But he is also out to increase his options in other areas as the Bucks gear up for their busiest few weeks of the Blue Square Bet North season.

Telford travel to Workington on Saturday and follow that with away games at Stafford Rangers, Blyth Spartans and Hyde as well as a home match with Hinckley and an FA Trophy tie with either Eastwood or Rushden & Diamonds before the end of the month.

“I’m looking at bringing in one or two new faces but I’m not having much luck so far,” said Sinton.

“We’ve got to replace Greg Mills, not necessarily with an identical sort of player but we are one short in wide attacking areas so I am looking at that.

“I also want to see what’s around generally that could strengthen us and bolster the squad because I feel we’re a little low in numbers should we pick up two or three injuries.

“It’s probably optimistic to think we’ll have anyone in for Saturday,” he added. “But you never know because football changes by the hour.”

Meanwhile, Sinton was frustrated in his efforts to get an outing for his fringe players last night.

The Bucks had arranged to play a behind-closed-doors match against a Port Vale side at the New Bucks Head.

But poor weather forced a late postponement, with the manager hoping to re-arrange the fixture for next week.
