Pontesbury will host the County Merit finals on Sunday, June 25, for the first time in the competition's 104-year history, with 32 qualifiers going into battle.

The club's famous Nags Head green is the choice of county president Mike Caddick for his big day and will have Shrewsbury area bowlers licking their lips in anticipation.

Caddick revealed his choice at a county executive meeting when Donnington Wood was picked ahead of Meole Brace to host the Midland Alliance champions on Sunday, April 30 at the request of county selectors.
