Three suspended by AFC Telford United after youth match brawl

Three people have been suspended after a youth football match in Telford was abandoned when a mass brawl broke out.

The under-18 Midland Junior Premier League quarter final between AFC Telford United and Leicestershire-based Saffron Dynamo was called after fighting broke out on Staurday.

AFC Telford has released a statement saying three individuals have been suspended from the club pending a full investigation.

It added: "AFC Telford United will not tolerate any unacceptable behaviour from their players, there will be a full investigation and any relevant action will be taken."

It said it would not be making any further comment.

The brawl started after about 40 minutes. Players from the opposing teams confronted each other after an off the ball incident involving two players at the game at Phoenix Sport and Leisure Centre in Dawley.

Fans at the game said players from both teams reacted following the altercation and punches between the players were thrown.
