Davies shines as Shifnal sign off in fine style

Shifnal B rounded off their title-winning campaign in fitting fashion with another resounding victory.

Star man Matthew Davies took centre stage with breaks of 72 and 32 as Shifnal beat Dawley A 4-1.

Sean Nolan had got Dawley off to a winning start by taking the first frame but the Division One champions hit back in emphatic fashion.

Davies levelled the scores and then Aaron Sparks, Lynsay Knox, with a 38 break, and John Fallows all recorded comfortable wins to secure Shifnal's 24th victory in 26 games.

Davies has enjoyed a spectacular season, recording the highest league break of the season, 135, as well as rattling in a stunning maximum in the individual competition.

He also finished joint top of the most wins (24) alongside team-mate Fallows and Maddocks A's Shaun Harris.

Maddocks A cashed in on Dawley's defeat to secure the runners-up spot following a 5-0 victory over their D team.

Leigh France, Harris, Phil Davies, Ian Duffy and Ian Skelton secured the whitewash.

The other all Maddocks clash saw the E side beat their C team counterparts 4-1.

Eden A finished fourth despite slipping up in their final clash at home to Broseley A.

Lewis Round and Michael Mancini were successful for the hosts, but victories from Mark Worsdal, Craig Griffiths and Terry Askew saw Broseley to a 3-2 success.

Hadley B also won by the odd frame in five, at home to Shifnal E.

Ken Booty, Laki Badhan and Aaron McCann won for Hadley with Chris Griffiths and Sean Cross replying for Shifnal.

Another tight game saw Bayley E beat Hadley A 3-2.

Newport B ended their season on a high with a 4-1 triumph against Bayley B.

Wally Harper set them on their way when he edged out Dan Oliver by a point. Colin Farge, Wayne Weeks and Les Stirling sealed the win. Chris Smith grabbed a consolation frame for Bayley.

Eden G clinched the Division Two title after beating Bayley D 4-1.

After going 1-0 down courtesy of a win for the hosts' Chris Morgan Adams, Eden roared back through Steve Powell, Craig Reynolds, with a 37 break, Rich Jones and Graham Copson.

Shifnal F followed Eden home in second place.

They signed off with a 3-2 success at Dawley B thanks to victories from Spencer Rowley, Gareth Lloyd and Chris Petford.

Andy Garbett and Liam Goodman won for the hosts.

Shifnal D were in fine form as they recorded an impressive 4-1 win at home to the Bayley Lads.

Jimmy Langley, Karl Wilson, Dean Harris and Mark Hebdon were on target for Shifnal with Mike Cooper ensuring Bayley avoided the whitewash.

Kirk Stevenson, Mick Egan and Neil Pearson fired Maddocks F to a 3-2 win over Anstice B.

Eden Elite also bagged a 3-2 success, at home to 2nd Club A while Bayley Cue won 3-2 at Bayley Z.

Neil Pearson (Maddocks F) claimed the Division Two highest break with 56 while Morgan Adams (Bayley D) took most wins with 22.
