Both teams had battled hard and claimed some big scalps in the earlier rounds but it was Harlescott who edged to glory in a thrilling final.

The handicap event ensures a level playing field, making it fairer for shooters of all abilities.

Harlescott's Adam Binnersley took on Ian Ankers and his score of 36.5, adding on his handicap, gave him a 39.5 which proved too much for Ankers who finished with 27.5 (34.7).

Marchamley's David Hand 33.5 (40.6) responded by getting the better of Paul Binnersley 33 (39.2).

Captain Vito Pacini was next up for the Harlescott but he was out-gunned by a superb effort from Danni Forrester in a match that saw the Marchamley shooter score 36.0 (40.4) while Pacini finished with a 32.0 (37.6).

The tight nature of the contest continued as Harlescott's Rian Pacini managed to get the better of Dan Evanson, 36.5 (40.4) to 32 (36.4).

The fifth set of shooters saw Marion Pacini (Harlescott) score 36.5 (39.6) while Marchamley's Cheryl Ankers replied with 34 (38.9).

The second of the Evansons, Steve, shot next for Marchamley against Ricci Pacini. A close-fought battle saw Pacini shade the verdict with a superb 36.5 (40.1) while Evanson finished with an equally outstanding 35.5 (39).

Spectators were on the edge of their seats awaiting the result of the final shoot between Marchamley's Dominic Spenser and Harlesoctt's Mark Crisp.

Spenser recorded a fine effort of 36.5 (39.5) while Crisp managed 29 (34.8).
