TNS are keen to stop an annoying trend

Boss Craig Harrison will be keen to stop an annoying trend after The New Saints again failed to capitalise on a first-half lead in this draw with Bala Town at Park Hall.

The high-flying Saints made the perfect start with Aeron Edwards putting them ahead in the 13th minute when chipping keeper Ashley Morris from 20 yards.

But, for the second week running, the league leaders failed to build on their early strike as Rob Pearson earned parity for Bala six minutes into the second half with his first goal for the club.

Although TNS remain nine points clear at the top and still unbeaten, it was a disappointing outcome after being locked in their seventh draw of the season, and fourth at home.

Harrison admitted it was another frustrating night that saw his side fail to build on their early enterprise against Bala, who are still looking for their first win against the Saints after 18 league games.

He said: "It's been happening a bit too often, a bit of a trend is forming which we need to address.

"We play excellently in the first half and deservedly take the lead, but then our opponents come back in the second-half.

"That's either by playing well themselves or us not showing the same energy and drive as we did in the first-half. It's disappointing and frustrating, but it's not the end of the world.

"This is our 50th game unbeaten at home in the league which is a great record.

"This game is done now and we have to move on. We will review it on DVD, see where we went wrong and look to eradicate our mistakes for our next game."
