Bucks want to do Andy Parry deal

AFC Telford boss Liam Watson is hopeful of tying up a loan extension for defender Andy Parry in the next week.

Parry has impressed greatly in his four appearances for the Bucks after arriving on an initial month's loan from League Two Luton Town in early October

And Watson says he is confident that the player's services will be retained for a longer spell following talks with the Hatters.

Watson said: "I spoke to them yesterday and hopefully things will be getting sorted out in the next week or so.

"He can play today against Bristol Rovers and I think the fact that they have let him play for us in the FA Cup is an indication that he will hopefully be around for a bit."

Issue

Watson has earlier this month said that he would like to keep Parry's services until January if possible.

But having spoken to Hatters' boss John Still he is not yet sure how long any possible extension would be for.

He said: "It would be great if we could do three months but as it stands now I don't know where we are up to but I have spoken to John about it.

"We can't do anything until the month's deal ends but I just don't see it being an issue."

Parry was sent out on loan to get some much-needed minutes under his belt after recovering from injury. The 23-year-old made 24 appearances for the Hatters last season as the claimed the Conference Premier title and promotion back to the Football League.

He has yet to feature for them in 2014/15 campaign because of his recent injury but has already made himself a regular fixture in the Bucks' back five.

Parry made his debut in the Bucks' 1-0 defeat at home to Forest Green Rovers and then followed that up with displays against Lincoln City, a 2-0 defeat, Woking in a 3-1 win and Spennymoor in a 3-0 FA Cup victory.

The latter victory marked the first time this season that the Bucks have kept a clean sheet all season.

Parry was expected to retain his place in the team for today's home clash with Bristol Rovers.

n AFC Telford are urging as many supporters as possible to travel to their FA Cup first round tie at Basingstoke next Saturday with players, management and sponsors Budget Gas uniting so that up to an initial 200 supporters can make the journey for £7.50 each.

The Bucks want a big travelling support to get behind the team as they look to reach the second round proper for the first time since reforming in 2004.
