Stalemate reigned during the interval at AFC Telford United last night, despite the Young Lions having the better of the first-half chances.

But 2,596 supporters at the New Bucks Head were treated to a goal feast when play resumed, as Romania collapsed in quick order.

The floodgates opened through Rolando Aarons and Callum Robinson chipped in twice, around a penalty from Lewis Baker and strikes from substitutes Josh Murphy and Kwame Thomas.

Newcastle attacker Aarons, who scored his first goal in the Premier League last weekend, broke the deadlock on 54 minutes after Jordan Ibe's cross caused havoc.

The last 20 minutes were disastrous for Romania as they conceded five times, first through a crisp low volley from Murphy to connect with left-back Matt Targett's cross.

Villa striker Robinson then got in on the act two minutes later to meet Aarons' low cross, converting at the near post from the left.

A chase was on for the ball in the 74th minute between Murphy and goalkeeper Razvan Began, as they raced to meet substitute Harrison Reed's through ball.

Began pushed the ball away but felled Murphy in the process, giving a penalty away in the process. Skipper Baker sent him the wrong way from the spot.

With 10 minutes to go it got worse for Romania through another replacement in Thomas, who slotted home across Began after Reed drifted out on the right to cross.

Their misery was complete with six of the best for England confirmed in the 89th minute, Robinson's applying the finish to Matt Grimes' cross.
