A first-half brace from Telford's Andy Todd was the difference between the two sides. Despite a battling second-half display, the home side never recovered.

Winger Sean Cooke rounded the evening off for the Bucks with a classy strike.

After a frenetic opening 10 minutes, Telford forged the first decent chance of the game when Andy Owens raking cross field pass was knocked down by Todd to the onrushing Adam Farrell.

He struck it first time but his effort was well held at the first attempt by Shawbury goalkeeper Damien Stevens. But Telford had the lead that their early dominance deserved moments later.

A lovely combination of passes between Todd and Charlie Barnett in the Shawbury half left home right-back Tom Lappin all at sea, Todd coolly chipping Stevens one-on-one to make it 1-0.

The goal stirred Shawbury into life momentarily and the lively Robbie Millington, a former AFC Telford youngster, might have had an instant reply.

He burst through the Telford defence on 32 minutes, before bringing a fine save out of Andy Pryce in the Telford goal.

But the Bucks doubled their lead on 34 minutes and it was a moment of quality from Andy Todd which once more split the sides.

Cutting inside from the left flank, he unleashed an unstoppable curling effort into the top right hand corner from 20 yards to double the Bucks' advantage.

The home side had a super chance to reduce the arrears on 72 minutes when Shawbury substitute Darren Beach squeezed his way past Telford's Sean Clancy on the left flank.

He cut inside but Pryce was down smartly to save, before Owens hacked away the rebound to snuff out the danger.

Telford substitute Cooke make it 3-0 in the dying moments of the game, opening up with a 25 yard strike which left Stevens rooted to the spot.
