TNS have one hand on the trophy and are are virtually assured of a third successive league crown – they need just one point from their last four games but already look to have done enough courtesy of a seemingly unassailable goal difference.

But they will be keen to ensure there are no late slip-ups against an Airbus side who have been the only realistic challengers to the defending champions for much of the season.

Darlington admits it would be fitting for TNS to lift the trophy against their second-placed visitors, but is expecting no favours from the Wingmen.

"It would be nice to do it against them, but they won't come here ready to lie down as they won't want us to lift the trophy in front of them," he said.

"We're expecting a tough game, but hopefully we can get that one point we need and then relax a bit in our last three league games.

"To win the league for the last three years is a fantastic effort, and we've also got a chance of winning the Welsh Cup for the second time in three years. It shows how consistent we've been and that we're moving forward as a club.

"Everyone's very focused as it means a lot to win the league again. If we can add the Welsh Cup it would complete a great season."

Defender Phil Baker is struggling adter injuring ankle ligaments but winger Ryan Fraughan – an unused sub last week – is in contention as he continues his comeback from a broken foot.

Meanwhile, TNS director of football Craig Harrison and head coach Darlington have won the Welsh Premier manager of the month award.

The Saints were in terrific form in during March, winning all four of their league matches, scoring 12 goals in the process and conceding just three.

Newtown return to action at home to Bangor City tomorrow (3.07pm)
