Avoncreek earns win for trainer Brian Baugh

Shropshire border trainer Brian Baugh had reason to celebrate at Wolverhampton – with Avoncreek giving him a 25-1 victory.
The eight-year-old took the 6f amateur riders’ handicap chase by a neck from Little Perisher (12-1) to mark a successful return from a 114 day absence.
It was only a third ever victory for Avoncreek, and a first on the all-weather.
“Avoncreek has run well on the all-weather before,” said Woore-based Baugh.
“But he’s one of those that turns up now and again, and when he does he is okay.”
