Ted Hankey in last eight action tonight
Friday 13th January 2012, 10:59AM GMT.
Ted Hankey continues his quest for a third BDO World Championship title tonight when he faces fellow Englishman Martin Atkins in the quarter-finals.
‘The Count,’ who lives in Telford, has already knocked out one of the hot favourites, second seed Scott Waites.
And now the 43-year-old –champion in 2000 and 2009 – is hoping to set up a semi-final against either Alan Norris or Christian Kist.
Meanwhile, Tony O’Shea – the man Hankey beat in the 2009 final – pulled off the shock of the tournament last night, dashing champion Martin Adams’ hopes of a record-equalling third straight title in a 5-2 win.
